Plain English first: This site sets no cookies, shows no adverts, and uses no Google or Facebook tracking. We measure visits with a privacy-first tool (Fathom) that counts page views without identifying anyone. The only personal data we ever hold is an email address, and only if you choose to send us one.

Who we are

LeakedBriefs is an independent review site for male incontinence products, operated by Vince ("we", "us", "our"). Our only contact route is our contact form.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we collect

Information you choose to give us

If you use our contact form or join the launch notification list, we receive the email address and any message you choose to provide. That is the only personal data you actively give us, and only when you decide to.

Analytics

We measure how the site is used with Fathom Analytics, a privacy-first service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across other websites. It reports anonymous, aggregated figures only, such as how many people viewed a page. We cannot identify you from it.

Server logs

Like all websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running. These are not used to identify or profile you.

Web fonts

Our fonts are self-hosted. The typefaces are served directly from our own site, so your browser never contacts Google, or any other third party, to load them.

Cookies

We do not use cookies. No essential cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies. Because nothing is stored on your device, there is no cookie banner to click through.

How we use your data

Our purposes

Replying to you: if you contact us, we use your email address solely to respond. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Launch and update emails: if you join the list, we use your email only to tell you when reviews go live and to share occasional updates. Legal basis: consent.
Understanding the site: we use anonymous, aggregated Fathom figures to see which content is useful and improve it. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

We never use your data for advertising, we never sell or rent it, and we never share it for anyone else's marketing.

Third parties

We use a small number of third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf:

Fathom Analytics: cookie-free, privacy-first analytics. Anonymous and aggregated. usefathom.com/privacy
Formspree: receives and forwards the messages you send through our contact and sign-up forms. formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy
Ko-fi: only if you choose to support us with a donation. You leave our site for Ko-fi, whose own policy then applies. ko-fi.com
Our hosting provider: stores the website files and standard server logs. UK-based.

Some links to products are affiliate links (for example to Amazon). If you click one, the destination site applies its own cookies and privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure.

We do not use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, the Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or retargeting network. Our fonts are self-hosted, so the site makes no request to Google at all.

How long we keep your data

Email addresses: kept only as long as needed to reply, or until you ask to be removed or click unsubscribe. Removed within 30 days of your request.
Analytics: Fathom holds only anonymous, aggregated data. There is nothing personal to delete.
Server logs: kept by our host for a short period (typically up to 90 days), then overwritten.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data. Because we hold very little (essentially just an email address, if you have given us one), most requests are quick to handle:

Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your data. For the email list, the quickest way is to click unsubscribe in any email.
Right to restrict processing: you can ask us to pause processing in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability: you can request your data in a portable format.
Right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Right to withdraw consent: where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, but we will notify you and the ICO of any data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, as required by UK GDPR.

Children

LeakedBriefs is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified to anyone on our email list. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
